ACADEMIC COUNSELING
Haliç University designates academic advisors charged by the related department head to its students in order to inform them about the matters related to education (registration, courses, credits, examinations, etc.) and the regulations of the university; additionally to guide the students in personal matters; to help them with their career-planning, with recognizing their personal qualities and skills and with making the correct decisions during the period between their enrollment to the university and their graduation.
PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING and GUIDANCE UNIT
Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit, which is motivated by the fact that academic success is in close relationship with a healthy mental and emotional life, helps the students with their development in personal-social-occupational matters, determining their aims and making decisions, and additionally with solving their problems in a safe environment.
As well as “Personal and Group Psychological Counseling” and “Study Groups”; establishing the equilibrium between administrative and humanistic approaches directed at the students, who have discipline problems are among the special services of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit.
The seminars on the subjects of “Coping with the Exam Anxiety” and “Drug Addiction” are among the activities offered to the students of our university and to the senior students of various high schools.
HALIC UNIVERSITY GRADUATES COORDICATION UNIT
Haliç University Graduates Coordination Unit, which is headed for making Haliç University graduates keep in continuous and active communication with the university, aims at:
- Strengthening the material-spiritual bonds between the university and the graduates
- Providing our graduates’ participation and collaboration in the studies carried on in order to make our university an information institution in world standards
- Informing our graduates about the activities in the university and providing their participation in them
- Following the economic and social successes of our graduates on employment
- Giving support to the graduates in their occupational preferences helping the unemployed graduates in finding various occupational opportunities.
HEALTH
A medical unit composed of two doctors and two nurses is ready to serve the students of Halic University in case of emergency. The students who come to the unit are treated with care, the necessary medicine is provided to them and those requiring a further examination are consigned to hospitals.
NUTRITION
Halic University serves daily fresh meal in three restaurants located in each campus. Menu is prepared considering the daily nutrition values that youngsters need to take. There are also cafeterias that make fast food service for students.
ACCOMMODATION
Halic University gives importance to its students’ accommodation needs. The dormitory having 60 people capacity and located in Fındıkzade serves to students coming from cities other than Istanbul. The buildings are designed in compliance with basic needs of male and female students. It offers a warm and clean family atmosphere with its modern structure and appearance. Some of the services that students can make use of in the dormitory are restaurants and cafes, central heating system, hot water running all time of the day, laundry and ironing services, 24 hours of security and supervisor, telephone, activity rooms and internet connection available for 24 hours.
SCHOLARSHIP
The types of scholarship available to students vary from education scholarship regulated by Higher Education Council (YOK) to education, nutrition and accommodation scholarships provided by university. Detailed information concerning the different types of scholarships can be obtained from Halic University Scholarship Regulations. Those who take place in the first 1000 in OSS (nationwide University Entrance Exam) and enroll to our university will be provided with a full scholarship while those ranking among 1000-5000 will be provided with the half.
